Tips for working out in the morning

Not a morning person? Many of us aren’t. The thing is, though, working out in the morning is one of the best things you can do for your body and mind. So how can you get yourself out of that bed and working out without making yourself miserable? Read on for some tried and tested tips …

Pack the night before

Get everything you need for your workout ready before you go to bed. That way, you can get out of the door within a few minutes.

Hit the sack early

If you go to bed early, you can ensure you get those much needed 8 hours of shut-eye and still get in an early workout. For example, if you get to bed by 10 p.m. and get up at 6 a.m., you’ll have had enough sleep for a good workout.

Set two alarms

If you tend to switch off your alarm, turn over and go back to sleep, set two alarms. Set them five minutes apart, on repeat, until you shut them up.

Wash your face in cold water

The minute you get out of bed, head to the bathroom, wash your face in cold water and brush your teeth. Both of them will make you feel more alert.

Have breakfast waiting

Prep breakfast the night before so you can eat it quickly before you leave. Steel-cut oats soaked in almond milk with apples is a great choice for a healthy breakfast.
