The Village
“The Village” is a small isolated village in Covington, set in the 19th Century where the people live in fear of humanoid creatures in the surrounding woods. As a result, they have constructed a large barrier and gave watch towers to warm them should anything attempt to get past. The plot revolves around Ivy, one of the village elders’ daughters, who is granted permission to go through the forest in order to get medicine and other supplies. In the course of the film, however, it’s revealed that there are no monsters living in the forest, just villagers that dress as such. And the village is actually in the middle of a forest reserve – the elders all know this but vote to keep it a secret even after Ivy’s return.
