John Galecki is one of the original cast members – he appeared since the show’s pilot, playing the role of Leonard, fellow star Sheldon Cooper’s best friend. He portrays a frustrated experimental physicist who has to put up with his friend’s often erratic and unpredictable behavior but ends up forgiving him every single time. He lives right across his cool and pretty neighbor Penny who tugs his heartstring right from the beginning of the show till they get married in the ninth season.
